@themmadoctor I believe $ZM only put in ~$50M in that round. With nearly 3x $SKM’s market cap, that would be about 1/6 the relative impact.

~$10B market cap SK Telecom (Korean listed w/ US ADR $SKM) appears to have invested $100M in Anthropic’s 2023 series C at a ~$5B val, possibly alongside a separate, undisclosed check via its US venture arm SKVTC. Hard to say how much arb is there, if any, but feels like a fairly clean way to get Anthropic exposure. Do your own research. Disclosure: Long $SKM

@LukeNeeley26 Anything’s possible. That said, OAI with ~1B users is months from $20B ARR and could see another ~$25B cash from SoftBank EOY if they resolve profit conversion and the Microsoft equity negotiation. Lots of unknowns and moving parts for every frontier model.

Low likelihood today’s $ZUMZ earnings or guidance reflect it, but 90s and Y2K fall fashion nostalgia could be a tailwind soon. That’s assuming they can push past China tariff pressure and recent European weakness.

@DDrewseph That’s been the negative narrative this year, but I think meaningfully better programming is a bigger driver of ticket sales growth for Sphere than a moderate dip in overall Vegas travel.

7/11 I suspected AI might be driving these odd patterns, so I ran a micro test. Phrase “organic abercrombie socks” had 0 search history as it’s a made-up product category. After a handful of ChatGPT prompts, it showed up in Trends within 24h. Trends docs say Google filters out its own AI searches, but make no mention of external AIs like ChatGPT. The socks test suggests AI traffic leaks through.

2/11 Evidence is piling up that people using AI queries through ChatGPT are generating Google searches and clicks at scale. That can mask slowing human search activity while still printing "growth."
