this actually makes a ton of sense for @HyperliquidX to function properly in the U.S., Jeff would need to find a suitable partner who understands HL but is also fully compliant Kraken acquired NinjaTrader and Bitnomial recently, & with both of those acquisitions Kraken's parent company Payward has all of the CFTC licenses FCM+DCM+DCO Hyperliquid already has existing infrastructure to support something like this with HIP-3, so Kraken could just be another integration similar to what @tradexyz has done for perpetual futures on stocks @arjunsethi has been very vocal about playing positive sum games @ Kraken, definitely most underrated out of the existing CEXs in the US & this would be a huge chess move in gaining mindshare and adding a substantial line to their business will be interesting to see how this plays out, because if true could be the beginning of other moves as well as they've been very aggressive with the acquisitions, & Payward has all the licenses across the financial stack: prediction markets, futures, & options

ppl don’t remember how sol did this week after week in 2021 it would just v bottom every major liquidation cascade, what it’s signaling to the market is that there is so much more spot demand for the coin just waiting to bid & that this move is spot driven more than leverage driven

the meta of this cycle is memefi, memecoins have completely captured the zeitgeist of retail’s obsession with trading, their low mcap starting points are incomparable for those searching for 1000xs & memes are relatable to anyone, on top of this you add speculative money games which creatively add demand sinks for the token, which will then attract institutional capital to bid these things because they’ll become more durable, pump is currently the best example of this bc it very directly represents the degenerate trading culture of on-chain but it also is a very successful business making 2M/day currently, in 2020/21 we had a lot of DeFi experiments which were pvp games with cool mechanism design that traders loved to participate in & could make money on like the high apr yield farms & other games like ohm, in 2023/24 we did not have as many of these DeFi games but memecoins went absolutely parabolic, in 2026 we will combine both of these things in a way that makes the coins attractive to both retail and institutional capital alike, it is also what I plan on doing with Ansem / The Black Bull
